Agreement of numeral adjectives

"Vingt" and "cent" take an -s when they are multiplied and not followed by another number. "Mille" is always unchanged.

Vingt and cent take -s if they are multiplied AND end the number. Mille never takes -s.

Examples

Quatre-vingts euros.

4 x 20, not followed by another number, so it takes -s.

Quatre-vingt-deux élèves.

Key word(s): vingt

Followed by "deux", so no -s.

Trois cents pages.

Key word(s): cents

3 x 100, not followed by another number, so it takes -s.

Trois cent vingt pages.

Key word(s): cent

Followed by "vingt", so no -s.

Trois mille personnes.

Key word(s): mille

"Mille" is always unchanged.
